General Construction Specifications

   PART 1 - GENERAL

    01 WORK INCLUDED

    A. Conduit and supports.

    B. Fastening hardware.

    02 COORDINATION

    A. Coordinate size, shape and location of concrete pads with applicable sections of these specifications covering cast-in-plate concrete.

    03 QUALITY ASSURANCE

    A. Support systems shall be adequate for weight of and conduit, including wiring, which they carry.

   PART 2 - PRODUCTS

    04 MATERIAL

    A. Support Channel: Galvanized steel, equal to P-1000 Unistrut unless noted otherwise on the Drawings.

    B. Hardware: Corrosion resistant.

   PART 3 - EXECUTION

    05 INSTALLATION

    A. Fasten hanger rods, conduit clamps, and outlet and junction boxes to building structure using precast insert system, expansion anchors, preset inserts or beam clamps as applicable. Do not use spring steel clips and clamps.

    B. Do not fasten supports to piping, ductwork, mechanical equipment, or conduit.

    C. Do not use powder-actuated anchors.

    D. Do not drill structural steel members without specific, prior written approval of the Architect.

    E. Fabricate supports from structural steel or steel channel, rigidly welded or bolted to present a neat appearance. Use hexagon head bolts with spring lock washers under all nuts. Support rods shall be 3/8" minimum.

    F. Install free-standing electrical on concrete pads. Pads shall be 4" thick and shall extend 2" outside the footprint of the equipment. Provide chamfer on all edges.

    G. Install surface-mounted cabinets and panelboards with minimum of four anchors.
