PART 2 - PRODUCTS
04 ACCEPTABLE MANUFACTURERS - WALL SWITCHES AND RECEPTACLES
A. Bryant.
B. Hubbell.
C. Pass & Seymour.
D. Substitutions: Under provisions of applicable Sections of Division 1.
E. All wall switches and all receptacles shall be by the same manufacturer.
2.02 WALL SWITCHES
A. Wall switches for lighting and motor loads under 1/2 HP: NEMA WD1, AC general use snap switch with toggle handle, quiet type, rated 15 amperes unless noted 20 amperes o the Drawings and 120-277 volts AC. Handle: Black plastic. Switches shall be commercial grade equal to Hubbell CS115 series.
B. Provide corrosion resistant switches where indicated on the Drawings: Hubbell 1221 with 7420 weatherproof plate.
2.03 RECEPTACLES
A. Convenience and Straight-blade Receptacles: NEMA WD 1, specification grade.
B. Locking-Blade Receptacles: NEMA WD 5.
C. Convenience Receptacles: Type 5-15R black plastic face, 125 volt, specification grade equal to Hubbell 5362.
D. Provide corrosion resistant receptacles where indicated on the Drawings: Hubbell No. 53CM62, with weatherproof polycarbonate plate Hubbell No. 52CM21.
E. Specific-use Receptacle Configuration: NEMA WD 1 or WD 5; specification grade, type as indicated on drawings, plastic face, color to match convenience receptacles if possible, black otherwise.
2.04 DEVICE PLATES
A. Provide wall plates by the same manufacturer as the wiring devices.
B. Cover Plate: Standard size, stainless steel.
C. Weatherproof Cover Plate: Gasketed cast metal with hinged, gasketed device covers, equal to Hubbell CWP26H.
D. Provide a blank cover plate in finished areas for all blank telephone and/or data outlet boxes.
PART 3 - EXECUTION
05 INSTALLATION
A. Install wall switches with centerline 48 inches above floor, OFF position down.
B. Install convenience receptacles with grounding pole on top, centerline 48 inches above floor.
C. Install specific-use receptacles at heights shown on Contract Drawings.
D. Install stainless steel plates on outlet boxes and junction boxes in unfinished areas.
E. Install devices and wall plates flush, level, tight, and vertical.
F. Where two or more receptacles or switches are shown immediately adjacent, install in multi-gang outlet boxes under a single cover plate. Where voltage between adjacent switches in a common outlet box exceeds 300 volts (277 volt lighting circuits on different phases) provide a permanent barrier between switches in accordance with Article 380 of the National Electrical Code.
G. Install GFI type receptacles for all receptacles indicated as weatherproof. Install receptacle vertical with centerline 48" above floor or finished grade, with weatherproof cover hinge up.
06 FIELD QUALITY CONTROL
A. Field inspecting and testing shall be performed under applicable Sections of Division 1.
B. Inspect all wiring devices for physical tightness of installation. Correct all deficiencies. Replace all cracked or broken devices and coverplates. Clean all dirt and paint from devices and coverplates after all finishes have been installed.
C. Test all 125 volt receptacles for correct wiring using an approved receptacle testing device. Correct all deficiencies. Submit a statement, certifying all receptacles have been tested and accepted, to the Architect.
D. Install all receptacles vertical with ground pole on top, unless otherwise noted.
