SECTION 16140
WIRING DEVICES
PART 1 GENERAL
1.01 Submittals:
A. Submittals are required for materials covered in this section. Refer to Section 16010 for definitions and direction for preparation and submission.
B. Product data on all wiring devices and faceplates shall be submitted as outlined.
PART 2 PRODUCTS
2.01 Switches:
A. All switches shall be 120 volt, 15 or 20 amp specification grade type gray devices.
B. Single pole switches shall be Hubbell No. CS115-GRY or CS120-GRY style or equivalent by Arrow-Hart, P&S or Bryant. Three-way switches shall be Hubbell No. CS315-GRY or CS320-GRY or equivalent by Arow-Hart, P&S, or Bryant.
2.02 Receptacles:
A. All general purpose receptacles shall be specification grade grey devices as indicated on the drawing and shall be Hubbell No. CR15 or CR20 or equivalent by Arrow-Hart, P&S, or Bryant. Special purposes wiring devices shall be as follows:
GFI receptacle: Pass-Seymour 1591-SGRY
Weatherproof: Pass-Seymour 3780-SC
Surge Suppressor: Pass-Seymour 6262-GRYSP
Surge Suppressor Pass-Seymour
w/orange isolated IG-6262-OSP
ground
2.03 Coverplates:
A. Coverplates for surface mounted boxes shall be galvanized to match the cast metal boxes.
B. Coverplates in wet or damp locations shall be weatherproof.
PART 3 EXECUTION
3.01 Installation:
A. All outlets shall be polarized with the respective phase wire, neutral and ground on the identical terminal on all receptacles.
B. The ground pin on all receptacles shall be installed above the phase and neutral blades.
C. Provide ground fault interrupter devices at outside receptacles, unless noted otherwise.
