SURFACE RACEWAYS
PART 1 - GENERAL
1.01 SECTION INCLUDES
A. Wireways.
1.02 REFERENCES
A. NECA (National Electrical Contractor's Association) Standard of Installation.
B. NEMA WD 6 - Wiring Device Configurations.
1.03 SUBMITTALS
A. Submit under provisions of Section 01300.
B. Product Data: Provide dimensions, materials, fabrication details, finishes, and accessories.
C. Manufacturer's Instructions: Indicate application conditions and limitations of use stipulated by product testing agency specified under Regulatory Requirements. Include instructions for storage, handling, protection, examination, preparation, and installation of product.
1.04 QUALITY ASSURANCE
A. Perform work in accordance with NECA Standard of Installation.
1.05 QUALIFICATIONS
A. Manufacturer: Company specializing in manufacturing products specified in this section with minimum three years documented experience.
1.06 PROJECT RECORD DOCUMENTS
A. Submit under provisions of Section 01720.
B. Accurately record size and location of installed wireways.
PART 2 - PRODUCTS
2.01 WIREWAY
A. Manufacturers:
1. Hoffman Engineering Company.
2. Substitutions: Under provisions of Section 01600.
B. Description: Oiltight and dusttight type wireway.
C. Knockouts: None.
D. Size: As indicated on drawings.
E. Cover: Screw cover with full gasketing.
F. Finish: Rust inhibiting primer coating with gray enamel finish.
PART 3 - EXECUTION
3.01 INSTALLATION
A. Install products in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.
B. Use flat-head screws, clips, and straps to fasten raceway channel to surfaces. Mount plumb and level.
C. Use suitable insulating bushings and inserts at connections to outlets and corner fittings.
D. Wireway Supports: Provide steel channel as specified in Section 16190.
E. Close ends of wireway and unused conduit openings.
F. Ground and bond raceway and wireway under provisions of Section 16170.
