PLASTIC SIGNS
PART 1 - GENERAL
1.01 SECTION INCLUDES
A. Engraved plastic signs.
1.02 RELATED SECTIONS
A. Section 10426 - Building Signage.
1.03 SUBMITTALS
A. Submit shop drawings under provisions of Section 01300.
B. Submit shop drawings listing sign styles, lettering and locations, and overall dimensions of each engraved sign.
C. Submit samples under provisions of Section 01300.
D. Submit one sample illustrating full size sample sign, of type, style and color specified including method of attachment.
E. Submit manufacturer's installation instructions under provisions of Section 01300.
F. Include installation template and hardware.
1.04 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING
A. Deliver products to site under provisions of Section 01600.
B. Store and protect products under provisions of Section 01600.
C. Package signs, labelled in name groups.
D. Store adhesive tape at ambient room temperatures.
1.05 ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
A. Do not install signs when ambient temperature is below 70 degrees F. Maintain this minimum during and after installation of signs.
PART 2 - PRODUCTS
2.01 MANUFACTURERS
A. ANDCO Industries Corp. - Product 800-16.
B. Desk and Door Nameplate Company - Product Standard.
C. Mohawk Sign Systems - Product Series 100.
D. Substitutions: Under provisions of Section 01600.
E. Engraved Signs: Laminated colored plastic; total thickness of 0.125 inch; 3 inches high; square edges; lettering engraved through face material to expose core color. Characters formed to Helvetica medium style.
F. Face Color: To be selected by the Engineer.
G. Core Color: White.
H. Provide one sign with room name for the interior doors.
2.02 LETTERING
A. Size and Style: 1-1/2 inch high upper case Helvetica.
2.03 ACCESSORIES
A. Tape Adhesive: Double sided tape, permanent adhesive.
PART 3 - EXECUTION
3.01 EXAMINATION
A. Verify that surfaces are ready to receive work.
B. Beginning of installation means installer accepts existing surfaces.
3.02 INSTALLATION
A. Install in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.
B. Install signs after doors are finished, in locations as directed.
C. Locate sign on door level.
D. Clean and polish.
