General Construction Specifications
PART 1 - GENERAL
01 SECTION INCLUDES
A. Application of chemical resistant coating to new and existing concrete floor surface.
02 SUBMITTALS
A. Submit the following in accordance with Section 01340.
B. Manufacturer's Product Data: Clearly describing surface preparation, quality, performance, application procedures, and available colors.
03 DELIVERY, HANDLING, STORAGE
A. Products shall be delivered to job-site in original unopened packages bearing manufacturer's labels.
1. Comply with Section 01610.
B. Store and protect products in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations and Section 01620.
1. Maintain temperature and humidity within ranges required by manufacturer's instructions.
PART 2 - PRODUCTS
04 ACCEPTABLE MANUFACTURERS
A. Stonhard, Inc., U.S.A.
05 CHEMICAL RESISTANT FLOORING
A. Stone Shield HR1.
1. Thickness: 5 mm.
B. Provide integral cove base, 4" height.
C. Color: Steel gray, HR1-200.
PART 3 - EXECUTION
06 SURFACE PREPARATION
A. Remove old floor coverings, adhesives and coatings. Grind or sand blast concrete as necessary to remove old coatings completely. Surfaces scheduled to receive chemical resistant coating shall be clean of efflorescence, oil, grease, loose particles or other foreign matter detrimental to coating application in accordance with manufacturer's published instructions.
07 APPLICATION
A. Apply coating in accordance with coating manufacturer's instructions.
1. Protect adjacent surfaces. If applied on unscheduled surfaces, remove coating immediately in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations.
