SEAMLESS AGGREGATE FLOORING
PART 1 - GENERAL
1.01 SECTION INCLUDES
A. Fluid applied epoxy flooring with epoxy top coat.
B. Quartz aggregate.

1.04 SUBMITTALS
A. Submit under provisions of Section 01300.
B. Product Data: Provide data on specified products, describing physical and performance characteristics; sizes, patterns and colors available.
C. Samples: Submit two samples, 4 x 4 inch in size illustrating color and pattern for each floor material for each color specified.
D. Manufacturer's Installation Instructions: Indicate special procedures, perimeter conditions requiring special attention, and any other specific requirements.
1.05 QUALIFICATIONS
A. Manufacturer: Company specializing in manufacturing the Products specified in this section with minimum five years documented experience.
B. Applicator: Company specializing in performing the work of this section with minimum five years documented experience approved by manufacturer.
1.06 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING
A. Deliver, store, protect and handle products to site under provisions of Section 01600.
B. Store resin materials in a dry, secure area.
C. Maintain minimum temperature of 55 degrees F.
D. Store materials for three days prior to installation in area of installation to achieve temperature stability.
1.07 ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
A. Maintain ambient temperature required by manufacturer three days prior to, during, and 24 hours after installation of materials.
1.08 WARRANTY
A. Provide one year warranty under provisions of Section 01700.
B. Warranty: Include coverage against flooring delamination from substrate, degradation of surface finish, both material and workmanship.
1.09 MAINTENANCE DATA
A. Submit under provisions of Section 01700.
B. Maintenance Data: Include maintenance procedures, recommended maintenance materials, procedures for stain removal, repairing surface, and suggested schedule for cleaning.
1.10 EXTRA MATERIALS
A. Furnish under provisions of Section 01700.
B. Provide 2 gal of flooring material, of each color selected.
PART 2 - PRODUCTS
2.01 MANUFACTURERS
A. General Polymers Corp. - Product "CERAM".
B. Stonhard - Product "Stonshield HRI".
C. Substitutions: Under provisions of Section 01600.
2.02 MATERIALS
A. Matrix: Epoxy, two component primer, three component mortar, consisting of epoxy resin, curing agent and finely graded silica aggregates, two component thixotropic epoxy undercoat.
B. Aggregate: Quartz broadcast.
C. Top Coat: Epoxy, single component, thermosetting, clear.
D. Flooring: Conform to the following:

2.03 ACCESSORIES
A. Divider Strips: 1/8 inch thick, height to match flooring thickness, brass, with anchoring features.
B. Control Joint: Saw cut width filled with manufacturer's flexible epoxy.
C. Subfloor Filler: Waterproof; type recommended by flooring material manufacturer.
D. Primers and Adhesives: Waterproof; types recommended by flooring manufacturer.
2.04 COLORS
A. Matrix: Color as selected by the engineer.
B. Aggregate: Color as selected by the engineer.
C. Top Coat: Clear color.
PART 3 - EXECUTION
3.01 EXAMINATION
A. Verify that surfaces are smooth and flat with maximum variation of 1/8 inch in 10 ft, and are ready to receive work.
B. Verify concrete floors have cured a minimum 30 days, are dry to a maximum moisture content of 7 percent, and exhibit negative alkalinity, carbonization, or dusting.
3.02 PREPARATION
A. Remove sub-floor ridges and bumps. Fill low spots, cracks, joints, holes, and other defects with sub-floor filler.
B. Apply, trowel, and float filler to achieve smooth, flat, hard surface. Grind irregularities above the surface level. Prohibit traffic until filler is cured.
C. Vacuum clean substrate.
D. Apply primer to concrete.
3.03 INSTALLATION - STRIPS
A. Accurately saw cut substrate to install divider strips if required.
B. Install strips straight and level to locations indicated.
3.04 INSTALLATION - FLOORING
A. Apply in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.
B. Apply to a minimum thickness of 3/16 inch.
C. Finish to smooth level surface.
D. Cove at vertical surfaces 4 inches high.
3.05 PROTECTION OF FINISHED WORK
A. Protect finished Work under provisions of Section 01500.
B. Prohibit traffic on floor finish for 48 hours after installation.
C. Barricade area to protect flooring until cured.
