PART 2 PRODUCTS
2.01 MATERIALS
A. Temporary Construction: Contractors option.
B. Earthwork, Paving base, and Topping will become permanent construction: As specified.
PART 3 EXECUTION
3.01 PREPARATION
A. Clear areas, provide surface and storm drainage of premises and adjacent areas.
3.02 ACCESS ROADS
A. Construct temporary all-weather access roads from public thoroughfares to serve construction area, of a 20 feet wide load bearing capacity to provide unimpeded traffic for construction purposes.
B. Construct temporary bridges and culverts to span low areas and allow unimpeded drainage.
C. Extend and relocate as Work progress requires, provide detours as necessary for unimpeded traffic flow.
D. Provide unimpeded access for emergency vehicles. Maintain 20 foot width driveways with turning space between and around combustible materials.
E. Provide and maintain access to fire hydrants and control valves free of obstructions.
F. Location acceptable to Engineer.
3.03 PARKING
A. Provide temporary off-site parking areas to accommodate construction personnel.
3.04 EXISTING PAVEMENTS AND PARKING AREAS
A. Existing on-site streets and driveways shall not be used for construction traffic. Tracked vehicles not allowed without permission of Engineer.
B. Existing parking facilities shall not be used by construction personnel.
C. Do not allow heavy vehicles or construction in parking areas unless provisions are made and reviewed by Engineer.
3.05 PERMANENT PAVEMENTS AND PARKING FACILITIES
A. Prior to Substantial Completion base for permanent roads and parking areas may be used for construction traffic.
B. Avoid traffic loading beyond paving design capacity. Tracked vehicles not allowed.
C. Permanent parking shall not be used by construction personnel.
3.06 MAINTENANCE
A. Maintain access roads, including traffic and parking areas in a sound condition free of excavated material, construction equipment, products, mud, snow, and ice.
B. Maintain existing and permanent paved areas used for construction; promptly repair breaks, potholes, low areas, standing water, and other deficiencies, to maintain paving and drainage in original, or specified condition.
3.07 REMOVAL, REPAIR
A. Remove temporary materials and construction when permanent paving is usable.
B. Remove underground work and compacted materials to a depth of 2 feet, compact, fill and grade site as specified.
C. Replace existing facilities damaged by use, to original condition.
3.08 DUST CONTROL
A. Dust generated by public and contractor operations due to the Contractor's work shall be properly controlled.
